Carleton Young Interiors is a full-service interior design studio specializing in custom homes, historic renovations, and thoughtfully curated residential interiors throughout New Orleans, Louisiana, Mobile, Alabama, and the surrounding Gulf Coast. Known for creating homes that feel timeless, personal, and effortlessly livable, Carleton approaches every project with a deep appreciation for architecture, antiques, craftsmanship, and the stories that make each home unique.
A native of Greenville, Alabama, Carleton's passion for design began early and was shaped by a lifelong appreciation for Southern architecture and European influences. She studied interior design at the University of Alabama and continued her education with studies in art and art history in Italy, experiences that continue to inspire her layered, collected design philosophy.
After relocating to New Orleans, Carleton gained invaluable experience working with antiques on Royal Street before joining the respected interior design firm of Curtis Herring. In 2016, she founded Carleton Young Interiors, building a studio recognized for thoughtful collaboration, meticulous attention to detail, and beautifully tailored homes that feel both refined and welcoming.
Today, Carleton partners closely with homeowners, architects, builders, and craftsmen from concept through installation, guiding every stage of the design process with care and intention. Whether designing a new custom home, restoring a historic residence, or leading a large-scale renovation, her goal is always the same: to create interiors that are timeless, functional, and deeply personal.
